Coach Urban Meyer and his Florida Gators football staff are cashing in on 2009 with a total of $7.56 million, according to University Athletic Association financial records obtained by the Sentinel.
The numbers are up about $2.78 million from the 2008 total of $4.78 million, according to the UAA's figures for the fiscal year that ran from June 30, 2008 to June 30, 2009. The biggest jumps include more than a million-dollar increase in postseason income — mainly from the SEC and national title games — base salaries and signing bonuses.
The changes already took place and don't include Urban Meyer's new six-year, $24-million extension. New contracts for assistant coaches are not finalized and not available to the media.
